This intricately hand-engraved silver-gilt singing bird box was made by John Manger for Asprey & Sons, 166 Bond St., UK. The box is embellished with an oval enameled lid depicting a scene from the English countryside. Take some time to appreciate the spectacular floral decorations on the inside of the lid.
When the bar is moved to the right, the oval lid opens up which releases the mechanical singing bird. The bird opens and closes its beak, turns around and makes real-like bird sounds. Videos of that are upon request.
The piece is in unblemished condition - it has a working mechanism.
